Why Your LinkedIn Needs a Better Photo (Especially in IT)

Developers don't spend much time thinking about business photos. But if you work in IT, whether as a developer, QA, DevOps, PM, UX designer or consultant, your LinkedIn profile is the first place recruiters visit before they reach out. And the first thing they see is your photo.

Less formal, still professional

The IT industry plays by different rules than the corporate world. Nobody expects a suit and tie. But a photo from a company party, a cropped holiday shot or your Slack avatar doesn't build a professional image, even in a casual industry.

Photos for IT specialists can be relaxed, natural and authentic, and still make a recruiter, client or future collaborator take you seriously at first glance.
